As part of his official familiarisation visit to the University of Ghana, Mr. Tinashe Zishiri, Registrar of Midlands State University, Zimbabwe, was warmly received by the Institutional Advancement Directorate (InAD) on Tuesday, 7th October 2025. The engagement highlighted the University of Ghana’s strategic priority on Engagements and Partnerships, promoting mutual learning and exploring avenues for collaboration between the two institutions.
The Acting Director of InAD, Prof. Gordon Abekah-Nkrumah, gave welcome remarks and provided an overview of the Directorate’s mandate. He emphasised InAD’s role as the University’s engine for institutional visibility, agility, and global engagement, and outlined the structure and functions of its six specialised units.
In his remarks, Mr. Zishiri shared insights into Midlands State University’s advancement strategies and expressed keen interest in understanding the University of Ghana’s approach to institutional advancement. He underscored the importance of cross-institutional partnerships in strengthening higher education across Africa.
Heads of InAD’s units delivered brief presentations on their respective portfolios, demonstrating how each contributes to advancing the University’s mission.
The session concluded with a fruitful discussion on potential areas of collaboration, including knowledge exchange platforms and strategies for product development and finance, project implementation, alumni engagement, institutional development, and marketing and communications.
The visit ended with closing remarks and a reaffirmation of both institutions’ commitment to deepening ties and advancing higher education through strategic partnerships.
