The Institutional Advancement Directorate (InAD) of the University of Ghana held its 2026 Mid-Year Retreat, bringing together staff to reflect on achievements made during the first half of the year, strengthen collaboration, and align priorities for the months ahead.

The retreat provided an opportunity for staff to assess progress across the Directorate's key mandate areas, including alumni engagement, fundraising, institutional development, marketing and communications, and project implementation. Participants also engaged in discussions on strategies to deepen InAD's impact in advancing the University's development agenda.

Addressing staff at the retreat, the Director of Institutional Advancement, Professor Gordon Abekah-Nkrumah, commended members of the Directorate for their dedication and collective efforts in delivering key initiatives during the year. He highlighted notable achievements, including the successful launch of the University of Ghana Alumni App and the organisation of the Student Experience Conference, among other activities that have strengthened stakeholder engagement and enhanced the University's visibility.

Professor Abekah-Nkrumah expressed appreciation to staff for their hard work and encouraged them to remain committed to InAD's mandate of building meaningful relationships, mobilising resources, and supporting the strategic priorities and advancement of the University of Ghana.

A major highlight of the retreat was a special recognition and send-off ceremony held in honour of Ms. Adwoa Abrokwa, Head of Alumni Development, and Mr. Maxwell Nortey, Accounting Assistant, for their years of dedicated service and significant contributions to the Directorate. Colleagues celebrated their impact and wished them success in their future endeavours.

The retreat concluded with renewed enthusiasm and a shared commitment among staff to continue advancing InAD's strategic objectives and contributing to the University's pursuit of excellence.
