The Institutional Advancement Directorate (InAD) is the University of Ghana’s engine for partnerships and philanthropic growth. We strengthen the University’s global reputation, engage our alumni and friends, and mobilise support for initiatives that shape the future of Ghana’s premier university. Through strategic alumni engagement, donor relations, and impactful collaborations, we help fuel excellence, expand opportunity, and advance UG’s long-term vision.

Our Mission

To catalyse the University of Ghana’s strategic transformation by cultivating and sustaining
partnerships, inspiring alumni and stakeholder commitment, enhancing institutional capacity, and
championing reputation-building initiatives that unlock resources, support critical development
projects, and foster global engagement in alignment with the University’s vision of achieving global
impact.

Our Strategic Role

The Institutional Advancement Directorate (InAD) is the University of Ghana's strategic driver for resource mobilisation and global engagement. Our role is to connect vision to action by building partnerships, unlocking resources, and strengthening institutional capacity to deliver transformative impact.

To achieve this, InAD operates through five strategic pillars:

We design innovative fundraising strategies and develop bankable projects that attract philanthropic support and investment.Through targeted campaigns and strategic partnerships,we secure resources to finance priority initiatives and advance the University's mission.

We cultivate lifelong relationships with alumni and stakeholders, transforming them into advocates, ambassadors, and investors in the University's future. By leveraging alumni networks and goodwill, we drive support for the Endowment Fund and strategic university projects.

We position the University of Ghana as a globally competitive institution through strategic branding, media engagement, and storytelling. Our marketing and communications efforts amplify achievements, foster public trust, and sustain stakeholder interest.

We initiate and sustain collaborations with international institutions, corporations, and development agencies. These partnerships unlock opportunities for research, capacity-building, and knowledge exchange, reinforcing UG's global impact agenda.

We strengthen the agility and efficiency of academic and administrative units by addressing structural and operational gaps. Through institutional learning, tailored interventions, and strategic support, we enable units to deliver on their mandates with innovation and excellence.
