Units

InAD is one of the key Directorates of the University of Ghana, reporting directly to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. Established in 2017, InAD supports various University Units in fulfilling their mandates. To deliver on its vision, InAD is led by a Director and organised into six specialised units, each playing a distinct yet interconnected role in driving resource mobilisation, institutional visibility, and global engagement.

Six Specialised Units

This unit identifies and maps out challenges and opportunities across academic and non-academic units, transforming them into viable projects that attract investors and collaborators.

Core Functions

  • Conceptualise and package projects for strategic appeal.
  • Market and pitch projects to potential partners.
  • Secure funding through innovative financing models

This unit serves as the critical interface between the University and partners, ensuring smooth engagement and successful project execution.

  • Guide partners through UG's administrative and regulatory processes.
  • Coordinate across departments for timely, budget-compliant delivery.
  • Maintain transparent communication and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Uphold quality standards and strategic alignment.

The Alumni Development Unit transforms alumni into a strategic resource for advocacy, fundraising, and global visibility.

Core Functions

  • Institutionalise governance structures for alumni relations.
  • Coordinate engagement across global alumni chapters.
  • Mobilise alumni networks for the Endowment Fund and priority projects.
  • Foster lifelong connections and alumni ownership of UG's future.

This unit enhances agility and efficiency across UG units by addressing structural and capacity gaps.

Core Functions

  • Diagnose institutional bottlenecks and design tailored interventions.
  • Facilitate capacity-building through partnerships and internal expertise.
  • Promote resilience, innovation, and performance-driven culture.

This unit positions UG as a globally competitive institution through strategic branding and visibility initiatives, liaising with the Public Affairs Directorate, International Programmes Office, and Quality Assurance Directorate.

Core Functions

  • Develop, market, and distribute UG-branded souvenirs and paraphernalia.
  • Manage partnerships with vendors for production and distribution.
  • Promote InAD initiatives via traditional and digital media.

This unit provides the operational backbone for InAD and ensures transparency through robust reporting systems.

  • Manage administrative setup and logistical support for all units.
  • Coordinate activities and facilitate internal communication.
  • Design and maintain reporting frameworks for impact measurement.
  • Present timely, accurate data to stakeholders for accountability.
