About
Akorfa Ama Akoto Leads Marketing and Communications at the Institutional Advancement Directorate (InAD), University of Ghana. In this role, she leads the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communication initiatives that enhance InAD’s visibility, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and position the institution as a globally competitive academic hub.
With her experience in education and development communication, Akorfa brings expertise in brand strategy, content development, and stakeholder relations. She is responsible for shaping the Directorate’s narrative through integrated campaigns, digital engagement, and storytelling that highlight institutional impact, research excellence, and advancement priorities. Her work focuses on creating compelling narratives, managing brand identity, and leveraging digital platforms to showcase the University’s impact and advancement priorities.
Akorfa holds a Master’s degree in Social Policy Studies and a BA in Sociology and Chinese from the University of Ghana. She also completed a Chinese Language Immersion program at Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, China, and has earned professional certifications in Digital Marketing, Managing Corporate Digital Channels, Evaluating Social Programs (J-PAL), Leadership and Organisational Effectiveness (Purple Almond Consulting, Dubai), and NGO Project & Operations Management (Cambridge Centre of Excellence). She successfully led and managed a US$55,000 grant from Deloitte to implement an educational campaign and project, demonstrating her expertise in resource mobilisation, project execution, and impact-driven communication strategies.

By leveraging data-driven strategies and creative marketing communication tools, Akorfa is driving initiatives that amplify the University’s achievements and advance its mission of global engagement and impact.
